Come find inner calm in community at Soft Space Wellness! This experiential and participatory workshop, led by our acupuncturist Joanna of Milkweed Acupuncture, will equip you with new understanding and techniques to soothe anxiety and insomnia. Self-acupressure practice empowers us to connect with and draw upon our inner resources of peace, serenity, fortitude, and wellness.
We will discuss a brief overview of acupuncture theory and the potential causes of anxiety and insomnia according to East Asian medicine; share in a guided meditation practice exploring embodiment, breath, and the heartspace; learn techniques for mindful, effective self-acupressure; and practice self-acupressure with six powerful points to quiet anxiety and insomnia.
There will be ample opportunity for questions, conversation, and reflection as we practice and learn together. To support a home practice, all workshop participants will take home a handout with the "essential ingredients" for performing self-acupressure and anatomical images of each point presented.
